Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Tortoise began his journey as an avid listener of vocally focused trap music since his early days in middle school, and this sparked a curiosity to began making his first tracks. many would say he is a mastermind of melody driven hip-hop and RNB soundscapes. with influences from the likes of Nick Mira, Post Malone, Lil Tecca … Tortoise has curated his own lane of uptempo and emotionally centered melodic music.
